First things first..

My boys at Stroker Ace came through in a big way and got my newest t-shirt to me just in time for a religious holiday;

Of course as you all know, I have a real-live store in the works which I promise to be getting to next week.
For now however, I’m still on the Pay Pal boat, and if you would like one of these beauts for yourself, 25 dollars and 4 to 10 dollars shipping, depending on where in the world you live, will get you yours.

Like my grandma used to say- “easy peasy, lemon sque… Stevil, if you don’t sit still I’ll cut off your goddamned feet.”
In other news, the caps have been paid for and shipped, though I don’t expect to see those before the middle of the week, so for folks who have pending orders, I’m nearly ready to make magic and I thank you for your patience.
For the rest of you, all I have is a photo of me from my own Thanksgiving celebration;

I can only hope that each of yours was equally fulfilling.
In news from my side of the tracks, lately I have felt the need for a revolving door on my house as I’ve been blessed with an array of celebrity guests darkening my domain.
Among them, the previously mentioned enigma named Jimbo, seen first here walking with conviction;

And then seen here later, riding with conviction;

If you raced at the single speed Worlds when it was in State College and you are still pissed off that your achievement of taking 32nd place was never adequately recognized, that was Jimbo’s fault.
Secondly, as I was wrapping up a big old mountain bike ride with some other visiting city slickers, who should happen through on their way to SLO but Man Sour and Ms. Blake;

For what it’s worth- I have a guest room, with its own W.C. As long as you’re not a dickhead, you’re welcome to stay.
Also, for those who care, Bill Stevenson once slept in my spare bed, so we’ve got that going for us.
On to other topics…
Now, I’m one of those douchey types that feels the annual use of a tree for the express purpose of hanging spangly stuff upon for a few weeks a year, only to throw it out like yesterday’s news, is crap.
I happen to like trees, and I think that we need as many of them alive, and planted solidly in the tera firma as we can get, but I also realize that I am in a slim minority who feels this way, so I tend to keep my mouth shut about it.
Regardless of what I think however, when a nice fella like Max comes along with a pretty cool idea like Trees By Bike, I can’t help but give the guy a plug.
Muppets have nothing to do with Christmas trees, but this clip has been making the rounds, and I think I like it enough to post it here, so soak it up;

One time I saw JMac karaoke that song, and he pulled it off so brilliantly that when he was finished, you could have heard a pin drop.
The audience was in absolute shock until the entire place erupted in applause.
It was like watching someone do abstract math at speed.
And perhaps on speed.
If you’ve been reading this spew for any length of time, you are well aware for my affinity for zines. For those of you not in the know, zine is short for fanzine which is simply a magazine made at home about stuff you are a fan of.
When I was a youngster I made a few skateboard zines, then when I grew up and matured, I made them about music, drinking, bicycles, art and passing out with your hands in your pants while your friends draw penises on your forehead.
It’s been a while since I put my nose to the grindstone and turned out a slab of pulp, but a few weeks ago I was done the extreme honor of receiving two really cool ones in the mail.
The first is called Lincoln Ve-Low and is made by my friend Thad. It’s a good looking zine with an even better looking front cover ad.
cover #20.jpg
It contains an exchange with El-Cap-ee-tan Sporty Pirate from Soulcraft Bicycles, the final word on this year’s SSWC (until the next word comes out) and the usual array of eclectic musings from the Midwest.
The second is called Excess and is a awesome offering that documents the saga of some friends who met up in Seattle and rode bikes to San Francisco, hitting every available skatepark they could along the way.

I like this one especially much, because it found me.
if you’d like to obtain a copy of this yourself you might be out of luck, as there is no address or cover price attached, but I suspect if you rattle enough cages, you’ll be able to work something out.
And finally, because I am bouncing out of town for a spell, and am opting to keep this post short and sweet, I will simply leave you with this,
ekpops.jpg
If this face doesn’t absolutely scream “exhilaratingly delicious frozen treat”, then you my friend need to check your pulse.

A’ight, then. You all have brilliant weekends full of digestive enzymes, various forms of alcohol and moderate exercise.
Maybe even attend a cyclocross style athletic pursuit, while you’re at it .
I hear they’re all the rage.

    I wonder if there would be a market for an AHTBM Stevil-sicle?

    He’s right. Put that kid on a shirt and I’ll buy at least one. Maybe three.

    Aren’t you supposed to remove the Sky-sicle from the mold BEFORE you eat it? Perhaps that would help avoid the “I’m about to gobble a plastic penis” look on that poor kid’s face.

    Great stuff, as always. Always a mandatory start to the day, though I’ve not hit the point to donate organs just yet. Still, there’s time, I guess.
    So, offering a room in the chalet is cool — was this Descendents era Stephenson or ALL era? Maybe you could make a placard.
