King of the garbage heap.

garbageheap

With all the jibber-jabberings and what-nots in which I’ve been immersed these last few days, the old inbox has accumulated a fair bit of fodder that we all could stand to climb around in for a bit.

So check and make sure your tetanus shots are up to date, and let’s get to getting.

First of all, there has been a petition floating around for a few days which I was first turned on to by Ian at Castelli. It seems that the fight by Portland area off road cyclists to get their fair shake has once again reared its head and they are committed to at long last have their voices heard.

Please take a second to throw your name into the pot, and help our brothers and sisters in the Northwest let their desire for dirt be known.

If local ATBers don’t get some trail access soon, and have to spend yet another mind numbing tour through the fire roads and poop bags of Forest Park, I’m afraid we’ll have the bloodiest of revolutions on our hands.

In news of brightly colored bits and pieces, Tamie from Maximo Supremo residents Paul Components got in touch with news regarding a fat cache of ano’ goodies she’s sitting on, which she would like to be no longer;

Hi Stevil,

We’ve got a bunch of leftover colored ano’ parts that I’m hoping to sell off by the end of the year. I’m taking the orders by telephone (530(dash)345(dash)4371) or email (tamie(at)paulcomp(dot)com). It’s priced to move. 20% off. Existing PAUL dealers get 20% off dealer price. Here’s a bunch of pictures.

Thanks, man.

I don’t know about you, but I really have a hankering for candy now.

Never has looking like you just got out of a time machine from the 90s been so affordable.

As long as I’m shilling for Paul, I might as well do so for myself for a moment.

I debuted the new metal patches,but actually forgot to have them avail be for purchase;

That’s just good business.

Then, On top of that, I just received a shipment of brand new stickers from Sticker Robot, (who by the way is having a humdinger of a special right now ifin you’re in the market for some decals of your own), and I neglected to post those up as well;

I have lots and lots and lots and lots. Buy one and stick it on your Big Wheel, or inverted cross.

Moving on to parties, at which bike and maybe even a few non bike people will be present, on this very eve, Mission Workshop is having a housewarming at their brand new space in San Francisco;

Morgan writes-

The Mission Workshop Valencia Street store is now open. Join us December 5th (6-11pm) for the first party in the new space.
On display will be an exclusive preview of the F/W 2014 Advanced Projects outerwear and ACRE series apparel. Beer provided by Fort Point Brewing Co..

I told him that I was potentially unable to attend due to the fact that my mom and dad were going to be in town, and I wasn’t sure if I would be able to get freed up.

Because really, if you were hanging out with these two, wouldn’t you only do what they wanted to;

In response, he replied thusly;

Hey Stefan,

Can you ask your parents if you can come to our party?

My parents will be there and their won’t be any beer so they should be cool with it. I know you got busted last month at Cody’s place.

They can call my parents if they want to. Marcia and Marshall will be upstairs in their room the whole time reading books and watching 60 minutes or some shit.

To me that sounds like a free pass to come play.

In news of bikecycle related athletic pursuits, this weekend in the B’ham, Brent let me know that the local brothers from other mothers and sisters from other misters have a full-blown freakout scheduled;

Stevil,

This is a poster created by Terry Jacks of Non-Stop Art Tattoo in B’ham, Alabama for our series finale this weekend;
bhamcross
The races are downtown bham at a historic steel factory. The night race is unlit, everyone has to bring lighting. Should be rad.

I was in Birmingham once. I fell asleep in a church there.

Brent’s weekend plans sound considerably more interesting.

Now, just because it always feels pretty good to watch other people excel at that which would most likely kill me, Cranpa from FBM came through with his newest edit;

What tickled my ears the mostest was that he chose to use a track by my pals Who Rides The Tiger as a musical accompaniment.

If you are unfamiliar with them, you are now, and you soon will be even more so.

As we conclude with today’s effort, I think I’ve gotten through most of what I had to.

If not, we’ll get into it on Monday, as the pile is my kindgdom and my kingdom it remains.

    I want to know what constitutes the merchandise of the MultiKulti dance accessory shop next door.

    That pump/jump track in the FBM video makes me want to break out the shovels and get to work in my back yard…

    And Who Rides the Tiger? Yeah… They make my pants tight.

    Bamacross Brent throws a good a race, and Sloss Furnaces is about as cool a venue as you can get. Old steel mill with all of the rusty industrial trappings, mixed in with some bits of its new life as an artists space. Some past Sloss action for reference:

    Dear Stevil, can you please solve a couple of mysteries for me? As the proud owner of AHTBM t-shirt featuring the Rad Rider on The Big Wheel, I gaze upon him and wonder:
    1) What is his real name?
    2) Why is his right hand bleeding…from trying to tighten the toe strap of his be-spiked cycling boots?
    3) Who’s tiny skull is on his left rear axle – is it a trophy of conquest, or a monument to a fallen friend? Or just the remnants of his last meal?
    Thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter.

    Regards,
    El Gato
