When all is said and done

There won’t be much left to do or say.
To-do-list

I feel now with the release of my new kit, I should do that thing with my hands that you do when you’re finished doing something, and lay down on the floor.

Dusting off‘, I believe it’s called, which may or may not ironically be what I have to do with a whole crap ton of various correspondences that have been sitting in wait in my inbox.

So for better or for worse, for now and the next little bit we’ll pull the ripcord, or shake the sheets, or whatever other marginally colorful analogy you’d prefer and see what’s out there happening with the peoples.

You know, in the last ten years or so, Cranpa from FBM and I have come to know one another, though apparently we met much longer ago before that. He’s very old friends with a dear friend of mine and the way I heard it, he showed up to her house many years ago for a visit, and had a couple of my stickers on his bike. “Where did you get those?” she asked. “I got them from some guy at the tradeshow“, was his response.

So it took a bit to circle back around to one another’s orbit after that initial exchange, but I’m glad we did. He’s also become very good with corresponding regarding what shenanigans are going down in his camp, which expands the horizons of this here bicycle douchebag blog (same diff) into a more BMXish direction.

Like for example, the following;

Dr. Get BikeradKnevielstein

If BMX Biking success doesn’t happen we can always get a college degree and move onto middle management!

More fun than a GOP Debate, and almost makes as much sense! Also, I assembled this at the same time;

lemme know what you think.

Three simple points I’ll make about all of that from the top to the bottom, is

1) It would appear as though Cranpa is the president of having fun.

2) I very much appreciate the reference to Edoardo Bianchi.

And finally-

3) I swear that guy has more hero shots of himself than anyone I’ve ever known. I mean, it’s like he’s got volumes.

Anyway, I appreciate the contact, and if by chance you or yours might be in the market for an independently produced, American made, BMX bikecycle from a company who proudly both endorses and supports dirtbags, perhaps you needn’t look further than the Steadfast.

In other sorts of industry news relating to dirtbags, this just happened;

Once again proving, that sometimes good things happen to bad people.

From the bottom of my black heart however, I would like to extend congratulations to both Maximo Supremo residents Kona Bicycles, and Sally on their new partnership;
sally
I’m sure they’ll both be very happy together.

Elsewhere in this great big, and banjaxed industry in which we are embroiled, it’s oldish news that Paul Component Engineering has a brand new website (built by this guy, natch) that is really quite fetching to look at, and should be perused with some regularity. Not only that, but they have in stock an array of some of the prettiest bits this side of Cartier watches, my favorite of which of course being the Mini Moto brakes;

I love them for their sheer perfection.

I also feel compelled to note that when chronicling the history of my Amigos’ jumpsuits a couple of days ago, I posted the back graphics of my very first;

Truly, Paul (both the person and the brand) have been down from the very start.

Moving on- At some point, Loudass got in touch with a sliver from his archives;

Stevil-

Geno, looking good.
geno
Naturally.

As if that motherscratcher ever had a choice in the matter.

And speaking of good looking but not really, though it’s old news at this point, I would be remiss to not mention this fellow;
hero
Not all heroes wear capes.

Or apparently spend much time at the dentist.

Now, as the curtain falls on today’s effort, I’d like to mention that around these parts, I’ve been buried in my basement working on a commission;
nicks
-Which because the fella who commissioned it sometimes lurks around here, I can’t yet unveil. You can trust me that there’s something under that black box. It might not be very good, but it’s there.

Between doing that, and completing my submission for The Great All Hail The Black Market Nerd Off;
MBC
-I’ve also been slowly assembling a buddy’s brand spanking new Caletti speed bikecycle;

I’ll be damned if that thing’s not as pretty as a picture.

And though I’m working at a less than desirable pace as I’m sure my friend would prefer, I know I’m in good company as builders from near and far are currently embroiled in similar sorts of activities in preparation for next month’s NAHBS show which will be cooking once again in The Golden State’s capital.

And though I can’t make any guarantees, after Blue Collar, The Bike Biz, Squid Bikes and I have our way with our unauthorized (and yet to be officially announced) outsider industry bash, there will most likely be little left to say or do.

    Finally someone else has taken the role of victim-by-photoshop, particularly in rainbow parades (thanks, Sally).
