I probably was gonna be here.

But I’m kinda out to lunch.

So, as I noted in Monday’s post, I was pretty physically wrecked.

Luckily, that passed with quickness as I was immediately saddled with the job of completely emptying out my studio to prepare to demo the floor and get cracking with an array of drainage tricks to help alleviate rainy days looking like so;

And now, after just a full day’s work, it went from this;

To this;

We’re installing French rains outside and pocket drains inside, which means in the coming days I’ll be digging trenches straight to Hell;

-then demoing the floor, and eventually pouring a brand new one.

As it turns out, getting cracking on a project of this size doesn’t leave an abundance of time to stand at my computer jibber jabbering. I’ll post standard updates as close as I can to the thrice a week schedule to which we’ve become accustomed, and of course, we have the polls officially opening for The Great AHTBM Model Building Nerd Off in just a few days, so between here and there I promise to do what I can.

Truth be told, any free time I might can scrape together, and weather willing, I’ll more than likely be on a bike.

Assuming that I can find them;

So it’s with that, I thank you for your patience in the coming weeks. If you get tired of the possibly imminent sporadic form this site takes here for a bit, might I suggest you kick off, and make like Fred, Bob, Rick, and Tony, and go buy yourself lunch.

Spread this like it's sick

    Looks like tons of fun. I’ve dug and installed so many French drains it makes my back ache just thinking about it. They will make things so much better though, so that’s good. Good luck with the repour. I think I’ll be there in a year or so, after I tackle some of the other endless number of things I have on my house list. Xoxoxo

    ‘Pouring a new basement floor’…great euphemism. I’m more traditional, as I always enjoy a midnight trip out to the desert with a shovel.

    Manual labour:Cross training, so that’s nice.
    And good luck getting your bike out, looks like it’ll be more fun than trying to wrestle a coat-hanger out of a pile of it’s coat-hanger friends.

    I know you are supposed to stick to bikes, but don’t be afraid to share your manual labor. It is nice to see how real people get things done.
