By the time you read this, I will be on an airplane.

But hopefully not one that ends up looking like this;
aaaq

Or this;

Neither of which I guess is very likely.

Chances are better than good that I will end up on a normal, not exploding one filled with non-rappers, and squished in between a fat mouth breather and a crying infant.

‘Cause that’s how I roll.

But where are you going?” you probably didn’t ask. The answer to that is to the Southern part of California where I will be punking the hell out with my friends who some might recall from last Year’s Underbike party, O ZORN! and Seattle’s purveyors of loudness, Zeke, who will be celebrating their twentieth year of snapping necks and cashing checks;

Friends in Southern California who might be interested in these festivities should come through, because it will assuredly be one for the ages.

Of course this means Monday’s post will be happening on Wednesday, and Wednesday’s post will be happening on Friday, but I don’t suspect that any of y’all care too much about that anyway, so I’m safe.

Rest assured, that assuming I don’t wind up kidnapped by a murder cult from Tijuana, or go to prison for recently hacking into NASA’s computer systems and making the Mars Rover do my bidding;
o-MARS-570
-I will eventually return with tales to amuse and delight.

Until that time however, I’ll do my worst with what little time we have left.

First up it was via The Blockhouse Roll, I came into possession of the following photo of one Eugene Paul Oberpriller and Joseph Trent Parkin (H.N.H.) duking it out sometime in the early 90s, back when I was just a toddler;

Now that I am twenty five years old, and have a fully developed appreciation for these two individuals, catching a glimpse of them when they were in their fighting form filled me with a sensation not unlike that of joy.

Another thing that passed across my desk that made me smile was the following email from Grant;

Stevil,

Either you have started a zine to teach toddlers how to high five, or my 4 year old found the AHTBM sticker sheet. Pretty cool.

Cheers,
Grant

It seems as though Grant’s Young’un and I already have some things in common.

A bit of info that folks in and around the Bay Area might appreciate is this demo day happening at the San Francyclo bicycle shop this coming Sunday;
SFCYCLO_AHTBM
There will be demo-able bikes by the likes of Swobo, Volagi, Yuba and Currie Tech.

I honestly have no idea what Yuba or Currie Tech are, but they’ll all have bikes and whatever for your riding and whatevering pleasure.

And lastly, a few days ago I shared a sneak peek of the newest run of AHTBM cycling caps made for me by the one and only, and insanely hard to track down, Chuey Brand. These are the sixth style of cap that Chuey’s made for me in my nearly three years of independent operation, and I think I’m safe in saying that they are among both Chlöie’s and my favorite thus far;

If you would like to pick one up for yourself, they can be found here, along side last year’s team edition Chuey caps;
111
-as well as the smashingly cool wool winter caps;

If you get a wild hair and decide to order one up, I promise that I will get it into the post for you just as soon as I safely return to daily operations.

Which assuming Snoop Dog (Lion) isn’t my pilot, is almost a guarantee.

    That EPO, JPHNH pic rocks! I feel like I was there (granted about 10 minutes back) rocking my Ross Mt. St. Helens clad in my purple hiking boots (thank god no photo available). Anyway, thanks for that and have a fun trip.

    Amazing photo – Not sure of the exact spot, but that’s got to be somewhere on the Birkie Trail rolling toward the finish at Chequamegon

    I would totally pay for an AHTBM Highlight’s style “Find the Hidden Picture Book”. Can I assume all the hidden pictures would be penises?

    Loving the old school mtb photo – proper bikes (obviously!)

    Always amazed when I see pictures of riders standing up and hammering on the bar ends. Was it only my ones that always used to slip down on the handlebars at the worst possible moment?!

    I’m riding a China Airlines flight tomorrow, thanks for that pic. We’ll see if I sleep tonight. On second thought, maybe staying up all night in Shanghai isnt a bad idea…

    Man,I flew on China Southern,LAX to Guangxiou and it was the most fucked up airplane I’ve ever boarded.Loose carpet,seats that wouldn’t stay upright,loose rattling panels and it smelled really bad too.Like a third class Mexican bus.During take off and landing folks were walking around chatting.There was a real live noodle shop in the back of the plane,it was like flying in a rural Chinese village.Everyone was nice as pie and we made it there and back so all’s well that ends well.I wasn’t even going to see Zeke,although since Marcus Parkus quit playin’ with’m that’s not as big of a loss.
