I’m leaving you with a mess.

I don’t know what the black thing on the sofa is, but I swear it’s not mine.

Every Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday when I wake up at 3:30 in the morning and wonder about what I’m going to write for the following day, I sort of mentally coordinate bits and pieces of information I have sitting in various corners of my brain, boxes, photo files, or in piles on the floor around my feet.

This week is no exception, but it seems like it’s considerably more discombobulated than usual. As to not waste any more time than necessary, let’s get right down to it with the official announcement from Voler Cycling Apparel that the 2017 AHTBM kit order window is officially a go;



Naturally jerseys and bibs are available and will continue to be throughout the year, but as we’ve done with every order for the last six years, for the next month, an entire range of clothing is also on the block, two new items being under layers and the rain jacket (hit ‘select’ to look at jacket options).

Like I said before, bibs, shorts and jerseys will be in the store forever (give or take a few days), but as the countdown timer states, we have a little less than a month to place orders for other pieces from the whole collection.

That being said- If a skinsuit, or a long sleeved jersey, or a vest or whatever strikes your fancy, there’s no time like the present to make it happen.

In other news of my veiled attempts at desperately trying to make a living, last month’s shirt of the month order is buttoned up and off to the screen printer, and the new one is now ready for pre-order;

It’s weird how all of my shirts say exactly what I’m thinking.

Another item I’d like to mention is that effective immediately, I’m cutting out of town and heading north for the 2016 SSCXWC thing.

This means that Friday’s post will be this one that you’re reading, as will Monday’s post. Assuming I haven’t regained my wits by Wednesday, this post might be that day’s as well.

For those who I happen to cross paths with over the course of the next five days, please allow me to apologize in advance for everything.

It’s also come to my attention that the good people from Giro have gotten their grubby fingers in the pie as well, and are hosting the event’s after party;

Will you be there?

Will I be here?

Time will tell. One thing that’s guaranteed is that lots of other various people will be there, and when making a party, lots of various people is a vitally important ingredient.

Another thing that I’m pretty sure of (that wasn’t a lock until last weekend), is that while I’m in town, I’m gonna have a bike. You see, after spending the day with Emily and her Squid Bikes compatriots this past weekend;


-She very graciously agreed to transport my bike up north for me;

After which time I may or may not ever see it again.

And as long as I’m on the topic of all things SSCXWC related, I might as well also include a run down of other events, like this one I’d originally mentioned in this post that’s being hosted by homies Get Wilder and Velograph;

Then there’s this one that Jay Sycip clued me in on over at the King Components headquarters the following day;

It’s only Wednesday and I’ve already uttered “I’m getting too old for this shit” at least a dozen times;
Then again- If the weekend surrounding the 2011 event didn’t kill me, which by all accounts it should have, and depending on who you ask, almost did;

-I guess I certainly can imagine I have at least one more of these fiascos left in me.

And it’s with that, that I leave you with this mess.

It’s not your mess or my mess, but rather, our mess.

One that I swear I’ll clean it up when I get back.
