Sit up and shut down.

Might any of yinzes recall back in April when I went to San Diego to see a man about a typewriter?

Well, I wrote a story about the trip, (which for the sake of full disclosure will appear in an upcoming issue of Dirt Rag), but my primary motivation was to use it for a fanzine I made with the machine in question.

So on Monday, that’s what I did. Then, on Instagram I offered thirty of them for free;

As the caption states, the amount I gave away quickly doubled.

If you missed out on it, and would be interested in getting a copy for yourself, I have the remaining issues available in the store for a mere two dollars each. I’d be happy to give them all away were I not in need of at least paying to get them made to begin with.

So if you’d like one, snag one, because as always, once these are gone, the chances of doing a reprint are slim to none.

In other news, as I was settling into the sofa the other night, I caught wind that Atlanta’s Whores were darkening the door at one my favorite local haunts.

No longer having any friends who will go see live music with me/are alive/at all, I jumped aboard my bikecycle, and rolled down the hill.

I see based on their website that they are currently on an American tour. If by chance they are playing near you in the coming months, and you have a penchant for AmRep flavored noise, then I gently encourage you with all of the subtle gestures I have at my disposal to go.

You won’t have any regrets;

Unless you forget some ear plugs… Then I suppose the onset of tinnitus might count as one.

From an individual who also has a penchant for the loud bands, one known in some circles as Stoopz Poomz, I got a notification that he’s got a homie down who needs some help;

Hey Dude,

I’m reaching out on behalf of my friend Edie, who recently got hit by a car in LA and got really worked by a driver that didn’t see her on her morning ride.

She is currently paralyzed from the chest down as a result of her spinal cord injury;

Edie is one of the coolest people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. She races bikes, runs marathons, raises cats, and is the most sarcastic person I’ve ever met! I love her and it’s heartbreaking that she has to go through this shit, but I know that if anybody can make it through this and be stronger because of it, it’s Edie Perkins.

She needs some help with her bills, if anybody can throw down, even a little bit… please do!

We’re lucky to be in the community that we are. Edie is all of us, and any of us could be in her shoes. We can help people out when they’re down, and in turn, folks help us out when we need it. If you have a five or ten spot to throw to her cause, please do, because at the end of the day, all we have is each other.

Finally, as we begin to drop the curtain on today’s effort, I’ll include a contact from the good souls at Portland’s Cat Six Cycles;

Stevil –

Yes, it’s been 3 years since opening Cat Six, and we’re not gonna do nothing about it. Figured 2 or 3 of your readers may be interested in emptying another keg with us, would you mind posting this flyer to help spread the word?

Thanks/Hail Satan,

TW (5′ 11″) and KB (6′ 7″)

They are lovely beings there at that shop, and if I was going to be in town, I’d put on my finest bells and stop by for the celebration.

And attendees beware. The 5-??? means that things could potentially get weird.

Luckily, I know first hand that there is at least one park bench in the neighborhood where clowns can rest their weary bones.

Spread this like it's sick

    I’ve never read this crap from the west coast. It seems as though it is about 3 hours behind reality.

    I love that clown photo even though I fucking hate clowns…

    Looks like Sunset Beach in Vancouver.
