1000 yard stare.

It’s just hard to guess which direction the stare is focused.

Have you ever gotten something in your head, and once it’s wormed its way in there, it’s all you can do not to think about it?

I’m telling you… The aforementioned road trip is kinda blowing my mind on a daily basis.

I’ve gone from devouring any video I can find about RC crawlers, to videos and articles about living in a truck. I doubt that I can swing one of them pop-up numbers, because the more I look at my finances, the less realistic it becomes. Even still, I think that given the fact that I’ve spent a fair share of time living in the back of the two trucks I’ve had over the last twenty or so years, with a little bit of creativity, I believe I’m going to be able to swing this just fine.

Besides, standing up to change your pants is overrated anyway.

That is of course unless anybody has a spare one of these they don’t need;

Oh, and for what it’s worth- I’m not jumping on any overlanding (pretentious car camping) or hashtag van life nonsense. This has been a thing I’ve dreamt of doing for decades, and because life has just happened to push me in a fairly specific direction in recent months, (or technically, since Leroy died), I reckon I’m not getting any younger, and if I don’t get off the pot, I might as well shit.

Certainly any tricks, tips, loans, lies, insights, and so forth would certainly be appreciated.

Oh, and if I still have a contact at Yakima, would you give your boy a holler? I’m kinda in desperate need of one of these;

It sure beats having to pull my rack off any time I want to get into the back of my truck.

Beyond any of this, I’m going to embark on a journey with a sketchbook, not very much money, and hopes for a cleared mind.

At least that’s what it looks like I think I’m staring at.

Spread this like it's sick

    I, too, am feeling the siren call of the open (dirt) road as of late. Might be time to re-enact the “Kentucky Ditch Hopper” incident, this time with more fireworks and bourbon, less Team Catera…

    I’ve got a Yakima swing out carrier, pretty rad, hangs the bikes, lock’s them up, you can hang shit from it. Swings way out. Pain in the ass to have to do 3 things to get it secured tho but worth it.

    At the least you should build a little pop-up for your RC truck and put lil’ Stevil in there at night

    I recently scored an SCX-10 II, and i’m everywhere with it. It has gotten me out of the house more in the last month than the last year. Such joy. Down the rabbit hole I go…

    gofastcampers.com I just sold my spot on their waiting list (feeling I want another van) but in my mind gfc the coolest/most minimalist way to go with a truck situation. You can’t go wrong either way.
