Get in losers. We’re going shedding.

Are you beginning to detect a theme?

Firstly, and most importantly, as I’ve stated in a couple of other post, but initially here, the tall drink of water called Rick Hunter is currently in the beginning stages of whooping colon cancer’s ass. Like I said previously, the tumor and surrounding lymph nodes have been removed, so now begins the arduous task of dealing with chemotherapy.

Because we knew managing his business through this process would be a challenge, we’d hoped to launch a crowd sourcing campaign. Frustratingly, we were met with a series of road blocks relating to the possibility of it endangering his medical insurance, and finally his recent request that due to his own personal reasons, that at this point anyway, we not launch one at all.

Feeling stemmed by all of that, I wanted to be proactive with some measure, so I did a little watercolor and a little painting to be silently auctioned off. I don’t remember what the initial asking prices were, but they have now gone up to $425 for the watercolor, and $500 for the painting;

If you’d like to send me an email to stevil(at)allhailtheblackmarket(dot)com today, or tomorrow, or really at any point before the the 18th of June, (that’s day after tomorrow, by the way) to increase either of those bids, I’m here for it.

So say, perhaps you’re not in the market for a watercolor or a painting, and you might like to support Rick some other way. That’s awesome as well, which you could do by going to his store and nicking some goods, like, for example one of his hip bags that the kids are going absolutely apeshit for;

Or some of his newly arrived Smooth Move™©® high rise, and low rise handlebars;

I’ve personally not used these bars on any of my bikes, but Loudass swears by them, and if they’re good enough for a formerly fat, relentlessly loud Italian attorney from San Francisco, then I’d reckon they’d be good enough for all of us.

As always, on behalf of Rick, his family, anyone whose life he’s touched, and me, I thank you for your time and consideration on the matter.

Moving on to topics of a more hand-ie nature, it was back in early February when I debuted the final revision of the forthcoming Giro gloves;

By my math that’s almost been five bleeding months, which seems excessive for a small production run of gloves. Wondering just what the heck was going on I emailed my contacts there just to get an idea of whether or not we’ll ever be seeing them at all, to which they responded thusly;

Stevil,

It sounds like the container had a delay due to the current logistic issues…

Current RTS: 6/23, so hopefully they will be turned around quickly and arrive later this month. Early next.

Thanks for your understanding and patience.

-Your loving Giro family

So there we have it straight from the horse’s mouth. The squeaky wheel sometimes gets the grease, and it sounds as if we’ll be getting ours here shortly.

I can’t remember what the retail on them is going to be, but they’ll be somewhere in the neighborhood of $50 or there about, so save a couple extra of them magic beans.

Having said all of that, I want to note that I’ve been relatively absent from this site’s social medias the last ten days or so.

Truth be told, I’m tired. The last two months/two years have really taken it out of me. It’s hard to feel inspired/engaged when you’re out of fight.

Just the same, I would like to throw up a smattering of photos depicting some of what the last couple of weeks have held, because it’s been nice, and I like sharing some things that have made me feel good, because maybe it might have the same effect of people who look upon them;

I’ve long said that if I didn’t have this site, I wouldn’t have any of the various arms of it either. I’d likely only have and maintain my art site just because constantly building portfolios of slides is a monumental pain in the ass.

Most days I recognize the importance of being in as many places at once as possible, and that managing AHTBM’s many tentacles might be a somewhat vital part of my business’ health, but every so often, it clicks just how easy it all would be to shed.

Spread this like it's sick

    I have very much missed the black squares covering the eyes of Stevil Kenevil. It has also been a while since I’ve seen anything in your images with the tainted ‘Evil’ cycling patch. When do the the WSOTU festivities begin? Does it coincide with Father’s day this year? Yes? Then YES!!

    I like reading what you write and your honesty about your world. Thanks for all of it.
