The weather outside is frightful.

I mean, what the hell, Washington?;

Because I’m allergic to foul weather, I’ve spent the last few days sitting inside eating soup, doing pushups, and making art. At some point in my self imposed incarceration, I thought about looking up ways with which I could watch a documentary I’ve long intended called ‘Murder In The Front Row‘;

It was upon this search that I found a free streaming service called TubiTV.

In short order I found that it is an absolute treasure trove of music documentaries, which is among my favorite genres. Over the following days I watched ‘American Hardcore’, ‘Desert Age’, (thought ‘Lo Sound Desert’ was better if only because they didn’t include Dave Grohl’s opinion in it), ‘Decline Of Western Civilizations I’, and ‘III’, ‘Filmage’ (Decendents doc), Records Collecting Dust number one and two, ‘The Colossus Of Destiny: A Melvins Tale’, Stuck In The Groove, that you know I loved;

There was also a really good one called ‘Underground Inc: The Rise and Fall Of Alternative Music’, ‘Finding Joseph I’ (HR doc), one about the US Festival, the Pixies, L7, Van Halen, Dead Guy, and most recently ‘Turn It Up!’;

-Which has inspired the to start playing again.

Obviously the foul weather has done nothing for me creatively, but I sure have spent a lot of time in bed with a computer.

I’ve yet to watch the available films about Tom Petty, the Replacements, Stiv Bator, The New York Dolls, Killing Joke, Nick Cave, and PJ Harvey, and as near as I can tell, I’m only scratching the surface.

Holy hell, how am I just learning about this now?

Anyway, if this sort of media strikes your fancy, perhaps you can investigate the service for yourself and get your own mind blown.

Moving on to other sorts of stuff I like, many thanks to Friendly Paul for turning me on to a brand new example of art that doesn’t suck made by the hand pf a person called Valentin Popov;

On a couple of occasions, I’ve tried to paint like that and as near as I can tell, unless you’re a monk living in a cave in the 1300s, or Valentin, it’s impossible.

Unrelated to art, but as if there were any sharks Bicycling Magazine hadn’t already jumped, they somehow figured out one more;

While I don’t necessarily have a problem with e-bikes per se, I do really have a problem with the bike industry pushing the normalization this concept that one needs a vehicle in order to ride.

Now, I was around when Trek partnered with VW, and Kona partnered with Ford;

I realize this isn’t necessarily a new concept, but it just seems to much more prevalent, and maybe even a bit insidious now.

As I said, maybe I’m just the grumpy old dinosaur over here still assuming that one of the accessories I don’t need in order to ride a bike is a car.

Right quick I’d like to address a wee bit of business and let folks who might be interested know I just received a fresh new batch of the AHTBM ‘Black Sole’ socks;

These are a wool blend, and are hands down the most comfy socks I’ve ever worn. I would get a new design made but am just too partial to these, so if you’d like a pair or two, I’ve got you.

Now, as you’ve come to expect over the course of the last year, I always close out with a new episode of Revolting, but because my compatriots at C.I. apparently go on ‘vacation’, (whatever the fuck that is), we’ve got nothing, so I invite you to listen to last week’s;

*Editor’s note* I forgot to make note that Robot was not on vacation, but rather he was in hell, so please scratch my snide snideness from the record.

Or don’t. I’m not the boss of you.

Whatever you do, don’t go outside.

Spread this like it's sick

    For the record, I was not on vacation. I was buried deep in a bag of suck, a suck bag, whichever you prefer.

    The Seattle under ice video is my street to a T . All of our neighbors move our cars to the top of the street where it’s level and zero chance of collisions since douchebags can’t figure out the math of a steep hill plus ice equals no control. If you ever want to practice sliding forever, then our hill is where to come since you either bounce off of curbs all the way down or T-bone a fire hydrant at the bottom.

    Fucking Grohl seems to infiltrate just about every (punk/alt/metal/grunge) music doco there is, miraculously it seems he was a teenager in the 70s, 80s and 90s and simultaneously lived in NYC, Seattle, DC, LA etc at the very same time those cities were the scene. Such a wankstain.
