Back and blander than ever.

Welcome back to the most mundane and pedestrian media channel the action sports world has to offer.
My name is Stevil and I'll be your host.
Today I'm coming at you with two new wrists;

They're not brand new, obviously, but I suppose they are newly modified.
Let's go back a decade or so. With ever-increasing intensity I would wake up from a dead sleep with hands so painfully numb, they were like useless clubs, and my forearms feeling as though they were being crushed under constant weight. I asked my ex if she ever experienced anything like that, (no, she said), I took to the internet, and saw countless physical therapists, acupuncturists, massage therapists and the like. It often times got worse after riding, which lead me to believe it was tightness in my chest, shoulders or neck. I'd stretch, work on myself with a massage gun, take epson salt baths, but all were generally to no avail.
Finally about two months ago I was falling asleep on my friend's sofa and she was massaging my forearm. Simply based on the fact that my hands wouldn't respond to her touch, when I woke up, she sort of quietly uttered, "I think you have tendonitis". Then, the following week, I was chatting with Donkelope Greg and he said he'd just been tested at a PT's office where they put little electrodes on his arm and were able to discern that he had carpal tunnel syndrome.
'No way it's that simple' I thought to myself.
A long story slightly less so- I got tested, and was immediately diagnosed with 'chronic and severe carpal tunnel syndrome'.
I got both tunnels snipped while I was awake (I watched one of the procedures) and I can say without pause that in my life I've had far worse dental experiences.
Ive always thought CTS presented like arthritis or something, and I'm shocked that not a single practitioner had ever arrived at that conclusion before I did. I asked my surgeon why this happens and he said "do you do manual labor? That's why. We're not built for this life. We're supposed to be running around in the woods chasing squirrels with sticks."
Which if I'm honest is all Ive ever wanted to do.
If you suffer from sad wrists, break rocks for a living, wrench on bikes, or really, do anything beyond chasing squirrels yourself, I encourage you to get that shit checked out. You might be surprised.
Having covered that, did yinzers see with your eyeballs that as new Quicksand record is forthcoming?

I for one am very excited by these developments.
Also, when working at the bar, I spend a lot of time with kids these days (early to late 20s I'd guess) and often times am subjected to their affinity to Turnstile, who at this stage are arguably one of the biggest 'hardcore' bands in the world (Taco Bell ad notwithstanding).
Any chance I get, I always tell them about Quicksand, who, if we're completely honest, walked so bands like Turnstile could run.
If you missed their feature on a recent episode of One For The Weekend, then please allow me to refresh;
I don't know how they do it, but they just get better with age.
You know what doesn't? Wheel size standards;

The bike industry is an endless game of 'The King's New Clothes', where someone designs and builds something either as a lark, or on a bet, and then it getting adopted by the industry at large, which is then followed by a gullible public, and around and around it goes.
Back in the early 90s, we used to occasionally talk about how dumb work clothes becoming street fashion was. Relatedly,, I contended that if you were a well known hip hp artists, (for example), you could start wearing your hat inside out, and before you knew it, everyone, everywhere would be doing it too. The bike industry is monkey see, monkey do, but dumber, and that's the hill I'll die on.
Moving on to final topics, which if we're honest, is all we're here for anyway- How would you like the newest, and arguably the best Revolting episode ever?

If not the best, then definitely the newest.
Either way, it's always guaranteed to have the scoville unit of vanilla pudding.

The best review of Sea Otter without having to be about Sea Otter that I’ve seen.
I have some of the same symptoms, especially the numb hands in the morning thing. I quit a high volume bike shop because I couldn’t keep installing 3 pairs of cush core every day. Really helped to pay close attention to how I was sleeping so I didn’t accidentally make it worse by sleeping on my hands. Glad you got some help.
Dood! I’m a retired healthcare pro and that is unheard of that even PT’s you saw not know or think 💭 to check for carpal tunnel syndrome! I’m so sorry 😢 you suffered for so long. Cheers to happier wrists
Running around in the woods chasing squirrels just happens to be my middle name! Glad you got your paws fixed up. Sucks, but sometimes you got to put on the doctor hat for yourself.
How about a double pennyfarthing? 150 inch wheels! of course someone will need to market some victorian era riding clothes. It’s gonna be Big Big!
