And just like that, I'm out of here (at the end of last week, so all of this information is like a time capsule, half of which has already happened. I just wrote this all ahead of time). No bike, no money, and little to no plan.
Before I detail my no bike, no money, and no plan plan, I'd like to introduce you to an artist named Mike Carson whose work doesn't suck;

What an absolute delight that guy's marks, and use of light, and dark are, and I'm sure looking at digital versions of them do absolutely nothing for the quality of the work in real life. It'd real inspiring to me to see people who have such a mastery of their medium.
So, back to the meat of today's effort and the non-details of my non plan being like so- I'm first skipping south to catch Swami John Reis and his particular brand of rock and roll;

-Which will then be followed by Quicksand and The Refused playing together;

If my ears aren't ringing after all that, then it likely means I was already deaf anyway.
Then I'm hot-footing it to the central coast of California to pick up my truck's hardshell which has been in hock at my ex's house up until my last trip back when I had it moved to my buddy's ranch in Gilroy.
So I first took the hard shell off when I installed my pop up camper in 2018;

Anyway, even though cars are coffins and all that, I sure do appreciate having access to a reliable one.
Since it's a bit of a whirlwind trip south I won't have time for scheduled monkeying so I'm traveling as light as possible but will maintain a log from the road I'll likely post bites of on the IGs, and then eventually a bit more detailed version on this here site.
One thing I can promise you is I won't be wasting a second of time at the Sea Otter Classic; Celebration Of The Bicycle®™© because F all that S, you know?
You'll just have to use your imagination.
Before I take my digital leave here however, I would be remiss not to include the newest episode of Revoting, which I promise is 65% less jibber-jabberie than last week's;

So with that, peace be with you, As-salamu alaykum, word to your mother, and we'll catch you on the flip.

If you wanna talk skate rock typewriters and the beauty of public transportation supported by Rancid. You got my #.
We decided to ditch Sea Otter because of the long drive in the wheeled coffin, the California traffic and general stress vibe. I love the greenery, flowers and soft moist coastal air. Seeing my cycle industry homies and geeking out on cycling gear I will miss. I can see much of that interesting junk online I suppose. Sometimes I need a break from the beat down of humanity. It sounds like you do too.
