It's never a bad time to go back to bed.

'Bed rotting' is a term Ive learned recently, and apparently is a thing that kids are doing on an increasingly consistent basis.
Amazing how the youth would rather waste away in bed than go out and experience all of the joys associated with the collapse of civilization. A little fresh air with your existential dread is good for a body. I mean, that's what I'd say to my kid if I'd gone ahead and done such a fool thing and make one.
Anyway, the important thing to note is that after two back to back closing bar shifts, I'm banging these words out from the confines of my own bed while a slice of sun shines in between the curtains, mocking my very existence.
First things first, I would like to extend a sincere thank you to all parties involved in this past weekend's food drive alleycat thing;

Being one who doesn't particularly enjoy riding around in traffic for fun, or being with people, or doing things, I opted to instead buy a bag of essentials and drop it off at the final checkpoint a day early instead;

Even without knowing what the list of needed items included;

-I kinda ended up socking a dinger, (with the exception of the boxed milk part) but I guess buying supplies for people who've lost S.N.A.P. benefits, or people who've lost all their shit in a flood tends to check most of the same boxes.
All in all, when the dust settled we picked up almost $8,000 in food, and supplies, which'll make things a bit easier this month for some folks;

Certainly, I encourage any and all who might hear of something like this happening in their neck of the woods to take part in a similar fashion. Can't afford a whole bag of groceries? Well, buy some peanut butter, tampons, and canned goods, drop it off ahead of the crowd, and go crack a can on a bluff somewhere and watch the sun set. It's the cheapest therapy a person can get.
Moving on to memoriams, last week I got the heads up that our friend Kevin Wilkins had suffered a fall, and was quickly losing his battle with cancer. I texted him to let him know I loved him, and two days later I got the word that he'd peaced out;

For those who've paid attention, his fingerprints were and continue to be on all things skateboarding, and has long been an avid cyclist and bike racer. He was probably one of the kindest, and most sincere people I've ever had the pleasure to not only know, but to have been known by him. I love how he operated. He was quick-witted and had a way about him that immediately put you at ease. If you were lucky enough to have ever crossed paths with him at some odd race or skatepark, then you know exactly what I'm talking about. I'll miss him for certain, but above all am so grateful to have been his friend.
Another person I like real well is Crandma, formerly of FBM bikes, currently of Rad Share who had some information for us about the aforementioned little BMX company who could;
Thanks dude, and hope all is well!
