Just out here floating along.

First things first, I would like to say that in the years of managing this blurg, today is the first one written (at least partially, anyway) from the passenger seat of a 1984 GMC K2500;
I love it so much;
(The owner of which has built a miniature version);
That being said, please extend me some grace. I'm doing my best.
One thing I would like to mention real quickly is that we utilized the aforementioned vehicle in the commission of the crime of swiping a load of rocks for the imminent construction of a tiny truck course;
It's gonna be perfect eventually.
So, that being said, let's get on with shit.
Right from the jump, the principals at Squid Bikes (the Namba brothers, Pete, and likely Prandus Mikey) are fixing to dust off the old Meet Your Maker ride concept in just a couple of weeks;

Unfamiliar with the Meet Your Maker ride series you might say?
Well, it was a concept first floated by Sean Walling formerly of Soulcraft Bicycles in which bike builders and various craftspeople from around the Northern California region would host rides and mini expos so that folks who were unable to travel to the Interbikes, the NAHBS, and the like could see cool custom bikes and parts and actually ride with the folks who made the the stuff.
It was a pretty fun project, but would eventually wind down as businesses changed, and people moved and/or died, so it was good to hear that Squid is interested in getting the proverbial band back together.
If this type of thing strikes your fancy, mark your calendars, and do what you gotta to get to Sac.
In great big news, only 50% of which is definitely going to happen, I've contacted Dank Corndog to see if he would be interested in getting the cüzie machine up and running again. Firstly, I was just gonna have him make me one with one of my old drunk/sober patches on them, but I'd forgotten I'd sold them all;
So, because I really want one of these patches on a cüzie, I ended up placing an order for a new run, and then, assuming Corndog can come though, my fingers are crossed that at least a number of others would be equally interested in such a thing.
It's not exactly an airtight business plan, but it's worked pretty good for me the last 18 years, so we'll see what we see.
Corndog got back with me and said it's likely, so if you're down, shoot up a flare here, or Flickr, or Tumblr, or Facebook, or Myspace, or Instagram, or Blue Sky, or Friendster, or send me a postcard. Actually, you know how to get ahold of me if you're so inspired.
Finally, it's time to smash a 40 on this old heap and send her off to sea. Before we do however, please enjoy the latest episode of Revolting;
Because some days, like the Minnow, just staying afloat is the best we can ask of ourselves.

I’ve started river surfing while waiting for the high mountain trails to dry out. The other day I saw two guys, one very old and one young, driving their RC trucks on the surrounding rocks. The older gent was more than little unstable and the younger guy was carefully helping him navigate the very uneven rocks. They sat down, rolled a joint, and enjoyed each other’s company for a few more hours of playing with their toys. Made me feel hopeful for my impending old age.
