We're doing great.

We're doing great.

First things first- If you're taking part in the mass-Meta log out thing this week, enjoy your time away. I sort of am as well, so if you need to get ahold of me, hit me via the contact page on this here website, my email address, or even a postcard. We all gotta do what we can to turn down the noise from time to time, and this was mine.

As always, thank you for your time and consideration on this matter.

With the exchange of the proverbial political baton, and as social norms and technological advances shift faster and faster, does anyone else feel increasingly like they're being forced to play a game in which they have no interest? It all feels very 1984.

It can't be just me.

I guess until I don't, I'll always have this platform to say mostly what I want.

I've pushed the following diatribe from Jax over there on the IG, but I encourage folks to watch this just to get the glimpse into this whole TikTok ban that I didn't have perviously.

I reached out to Jax to see if that clip was available any other place where I could get an embeddable code from, but at the time that I published today's post, I hadn't yet heard back from her.

The long and the short of it is these days I feel exhausted of the race, the banter, and the blathering from the time I wake up to the time I fall asleep, and one of the only ways I can seem to turn down the volume is to stick my head in the sand.

It offers me a temporary reprieve from sitting in a house that's on fire, while I go goof around in the woods with my friends, as I did a few days ago with my old chum James Newman;

Folks who've been on this RC truck journey with me might recognize James as being one of the first people to school me in the ways of the tiny truck way back in the 2018s or so. I suppose I initially met him racing cyclocross when he was a bike messenger in the early 2000s, and then our friendship just kinda grew from there. It re-reminded me that an afternoon spent playing in the woods with friends is  better than just about anything.

Another thing I got into was to visit my old curb spot, sans-wooden toy, as my doc told me that no matter what, for the next five weeks, I should just say no, so instead, I flexed my artistic eye;
It was a bit of a surreal thing, as I walked to get a coffee, I counted on my fingers and noted that this was the first time being at the spot in 36 years of skating there, I did not, but better to have this auspicious first than to blow my knee out again.

The whole reason I was back in the East bay however was to babysit and commune with my stübentiger;
He's doing super good now, which Im very thankful for. It's wild that just a few months ago, doctors were loosely indicating that we might need to put him down.

Always get a second opinion.

Lastly, before I say the last thing I say before I say the last things, the newest Dax Riggs song is out, and as you'd probably guess, it rules;

I sure do look forward to the release of the full length.

Now, as the curtain begins to close on today's effort, I would like to present the brand newest episode of Revolting;
"Is it any good this week?" you might be asking. It's a matter of perspective, certainly, but though it's always not as good as first place, it's generally better than last.
