All about the party.

All about the party.

Write your name on your red Solo cup, and get ready to make some regrets. God knows I have.

First things first, and even though I posted this a few weeks ago for the 'One For The Weekend', I think it's real damned important so I'm gonna post it again here as well;

There ain't a thing wrong with a new Afghan Whigs, and when a banger like this shows up, it just makes it feel like everything's gonna be ok.

Secondly, I'm gonna circle back around to this post and officially unveil the official official Jammer Bikes store;

James has been hard at work rounding out the visuals, assembling a team, shipping frame sets, and carving out his own little empire;

So far people have been real hyped and I think he said he's moved three or possibly four of the frame sets already. Bless his pea-picking little heart. I like it when good things happen for good people.

Moving on to other bike types of things. Boy oh boy- Did any of yinzers watch the Roubaix?

I'm so proud of that Wout;

Holy cats that was an epic finish. I haven't yet watched the women's race, but I hear tell that it was equally nail-bitey. The only thing that could have made the weekend's races better was if it had rained, but I guess it doesn't really do that anymore.

Moving along to other topics- I'll now regale you with a story about recently getting taken out by an ebiker. So, on Monday, I went out for a meaty drop bar rip. It's a decent out and back with a little bit of single track mixed in for good measure. Maybe from start to finish it clocks in at about three hours. At the conclusion of my journey, I was riding up a little inner-urban S turn incline, when suddenly a dude on an e-bike comes screaming down the middle of the shared path in my direction. Moments later here comes (I presume) his wife, rear wheel fully locked and coming at me sideways. In one swift movement I uncliped and my bike was swept from beneath me. I turned around and there she was ass up, face down, and completely tangled up in her bike.

"Riding a little out of control for the given circumstances, are we?" I said.

Sheepishly she agreed, as she untangled herself from her bike. I checked my rear wheel which was still straight as an arrow, and as her (again, I presume) husband came riding back up the trail, I hoped on my bike and left them alone with their shame. Assuming either of them had any.

It's bad enough riding in traffic with the inattentive and lame, and now we have people who have zero skill, and acceleration to share the trails with. There aren't enough gas faces for those dummies.

And thus concludes today's 'Story Time With Stevil®™©'.

Now, as the curtain falls on today's effort, please allow me the pleasure of presenting the two hundred and twenty fifth episode of Revolting;

Put two lampshades on your head and call me in the morning.

5 Jammers are out in the wild as of now. Thanks for the kind words Stevil 😘

The Hell of the North definitely delivered! Both races had me yelling at the screen. Got to make it in person one of these years… I own a Surley Big Dummy retro-fitted with E assist. With the trailer I can usually haul everything I need to do a job.I use it almost exclusively for work. It’s paid for itself many times over. A very usefull tool! That being said, I used to live in a place that was completely over run with them. I looked into building a jamming device (uses a shit ton of power but can be done) and used to amuse myself fantasizing about how much fun it would be to shut em down! In the end they’re not going away so gotta just accept it best we can. Glad you came away unscathed and Cheers!

Considering your entanglement with those e-bikers, I suppose that IF I and my bike were free of harm I might have taken a deep breath and maybe just left them with just a few salty statements. That is the more mature me though as younger me would have probably done something regrettable and then disappeared. BTW, I think their conveyance was immaterial as they could have just as easily been out of control on anything. Good on you for not giving them the what for.
