Another day, another chance to ruin everything.
Every day you pry your eyes open and let the sunlight of a new dawn filter in is a new opportunity to pull the pin on your entire existence, and walk away with nothing but scorched earth behind you.
Remember that the next time things don’t go your way.
And I hope to the mothers, and the variations of that particular title in our midst all had great days yesterday.
Personally I told ‘yo mama’ jokes all day, but we all have a different way to celebrate the mothers in our lives.
Ok then- I have a bit of product news I’d like to fritter out (if ‘frittering out’ is indeed a phrase.)
On a rainy, and wet Friday of last week, I met up with one Kachusha Munkanta of Chuey Brand Cycling Caps, and took on a load of his fine wares.
My initial plan was to get a batch of winter KVLT caps, but somehow that didn’t exactly work out, and while I did get some of those, I got a wide array of other styles as well.
Starting in no particular order, I guess we’ll begin with the style I just mentioned being the winter KVLT cap;
I stole one for myself, because I love winter caps like a pig loves corn.
What I appreciate about them the most, is that they can be worn exactly how winter caps are supposed to be worn, when not being utilized to actually keep your ears warm), and that is perched all pointy and weird atop your head like a Hot Dog On A Stick hat;
But not this guy though;
Because always remember-
#CapsNotHats.
It’s with that, that we’ll move on from those to others.
Second to those, I took delivery of two versions of the old AHTBM crest hat, also in the winter style in red;
and black;
Then, in another style of hat all together, Chuey maid a batch of what I’ve affectionately referred to as ‘The Heckle Hat‘;
As I said in the hat’s description;
Why do I call it the Heckle Hat, you probably didn’t just ask? When you’re standing on the side of the race course reducing your friends, and enemies, and frienemies to tears with your crafty and creative taunts, it’s best to keep the sun from beating down on your neck, ears, and assuming you have one, your bald spot. I also call it that because I don’t look as good in them as Chuey does, and my wife made fun of me when she saw me wearing it, but I’m of the ‘function sometimes trumps fashion’ school of thought. She actually looks really good in them too. I’m tired of looking dumb in stuff. Whatever. I have a few in stock and if you’d like one, get one. If you wouldn’t, don’t, but don’t come crying to me when you get a terrible sunburn on your parts.
I don’t have many of any of these that I’ve just presented, so get while the getting is good. With Chuey’s bi-costal schedule, and jetting around the world as he does, there’s no telling when another order will come in.
The one style I do have plenty of is the throwback to the ever popular blue on blue crest style I did a couple of years ago;
This is a slightly lighter weight version of the standard cap Chuey makes, and most definitely more appropriate for spring and summer. I have a few more of these in stock than the others, but as I said, there’s no telling when I’ll get any back in stock, so if your interest is piqued on any of them, do what you gotta.
In news of bike races, floral shirts, and things going down in Colorado this weekend, I was once again tapped to flow some product for this year’s second annual Lookout Challenge;
Do you know how much one has to pay in order to secure the lower left hand corner of a digital flyer?
I’m not going to mention any numbers, but suffice (it) to say, it’s a lot.
Speaking of this weekend, I’m going to be booking out of town to go drag my bare ass across the floor of Paul Components, so at best, Monday’s post will be a Post-It note stuck on your computer monitor.
Provided you stick a Post-It note on your monitor.
There’s always a chance that I could return home Sunday evening feeling bright tailed and bushy-eyed, and knock a real barn burner of a post out.
Then again, that sounds like work and if I wanted to do that, I’d probably get a job.
My point is that one way or another, we’ll be meeting up here again real soon with tales of machined things, and Chico, California.
We might do some of this;
Or some of this;
Or some of this;
Or some of this;
Or some of this;
I for sure hope to do this;
Paul and Marley will probably do some of this;
And at some point, I might even find a little bit of time to see if Paul ever cleaned his chain;
Or maybe, we might even do a little bit of all of those things.
TV Party for the win.
Oakley should rock out an Alcala signature model of their old Factory Pilots.
I could have sworn the next run of caps were going to be orange to match the new kit.
This is a tough day for AHTBM cap completists.
I hope you didn’t spend too much. Pretty vague flyer… But I’m up for a challenge.
Where, what time, what kind of challenge? I hope it not drawing dicks, cause I’m no artist.
Click on the link, and it will tell you all you need to know.
I tried. Even googled em.
Never mind. I turned my brain on and figured it out.
By the way.. It’s been a long time, thought I’d say hey.
Hey
I’ve only known one Brock in my life, and you appear to be him. The internet never ceased to amaze.
If you get a chance check out Empire Coffee in Chico. Matt Loomis has his art up. He doesn’t do shows all that often.
I love his work. Thanks for the tip.
Thanks for the shout out! Team Meow on Facebook for all the info!
