I was at my peak skateboard/hardcore punk epoch when this crap came out and growing up in a military town, my friends and all were like fuck this garbage. Obviously/unfortunately millions of others felt differently and I actually knew people who said the reason they got involved with the military was related to this film. Nearly forty years later I still think it sucks. Don’t think for even second that last year’s sequel was not trying to hit that same jingoist/recruitment vein.
